Where is Duquesa Village Located?
Duquesa Village is located in the municipality of Manilva, in the province of Malaga. It is situated in the area of Duquesa Golf, adjacent to the Duquesa Golf Course. It is easily accessible via several airports. Malaga airport is around an hour’s drive and Gibraltar airport is just 30 minutes away. Additionally, Jerez is 90 minutes away and Seville is only two and a half hours.
The beautiful, unspoilt Manilva Beaches, Duquesa Marina and the pretty fishing village of El Castillo are just over 2km away. This equates to only a 4-minute drive or a 25-minute walk
The busy town centre of San Luis de Sabinillas is located 2.8km away from Duquesa Village. This is roughly an 8 minute drive. However, if you are feeling energetic, you can easily walk to Sabinillas from the urbanisation. Once at Duquesa Marina, you can then stroll along the promenade into Sabinillas. Furthermore, you can stop for refreshments en route in one of the many bars and cafes that line the promenade.
Additionally, the larger town of Estepona is around 12km away (20 minute drive). Alternatively, 12 km in the other direction, lies the prestigious port of Sotogrande.
The nearest restaurants can be found in Monte Duquesa Courtyard. This is a very pleasant square, about a 15 minute walk away from Duquesa Village. Kelly’s bar is very popular amongst the ex-pat community and tourists as it offers English breakfasts, steaks and burgers. Also, Montes is a great choice with an extensive menu. In addition, they often have a “set menu” and 2-4-1 deals.
Both Duquesa Marina and El Castillo offer a large selection of bars and restaurants catering for all tastes. You can sample Indian, Chinese, Mexican, Thai, Italian, and, of course, Spanish whilst also soaking up the ambient atmosphere and fantastic views across the marina.
Supermarkets and Shopping
The port of Duquesa has a small supermarket which sells most things and should cover the basic needs. Additionally, there are a few banks, a chemist, newsagents, hairdressers and beauty parlours and some small shops in the port itself.
Furthermore, the larger supermarkets, Mercadona and Eroski, are both within a 5 minute drive of Duquesa Village and offer a much bigger selection of products. Moreover, these supermarkets offer an online order and delivery service.
Moreover, Sabinillas town centre has several banks, post office, bookshops, stationers, hairdressers, furniture shops, hardware shops and clothes and shoe shops – almost everything you would need!
Schools in and around the Area
There are 3 state primary schools in Manilva and the large Secondary school. As well as these, there is also a large selection of Spanish private schools or international schools within an easily commutable distance.
There is a medical centre in Sabinillas and another in Manilva village. In addition, there is a “Helicopteros Sanitarios” clinic located near to the Eroski supermarket in Los Hidalgos as well as several private clinics that work with most of the well known private health insurers.
Golf Courses near Duquesa Village
Duquesa Golf course could not be any closer – it is literally on your doorstep! However, there are many other golf courses within easy driving distance including Casares Golf ( 9 hole), Finca Cortesin and La Cañada golf club.
Key information about Duquesa Village
Duquesa Village is an enclosed residential complex of low rise Andalusian Style, one, two and three bedroom apartments built between 2005 and 2007.
It is made up of 702 apartments, over 23 blocks. Each block has no more than 5 stairwells and there are no more than 3 apartments per floor. In fact, in the majority of the blocks, there are only 2 apartments per floor. In addition, there are ground floor, first floor and second floor apartments and third floor penthouses.
There is just one entry and exit point located between blocks 16 and 22. The plot slopes down with the high point being at the entrance, (blocks 16 and 22) and the low points being blocks 2,3 and 4. Blocks 1, 13, 14 and 15 are front line golf. Please see below the plan of the Urbanisation.

Communal Facilities in Duquesa Village
Duquesa Village is set in a lush green zone with over 90,000 m2 of very well-maintained, mature communal gardens, designed in a typically Andalusian rustic style and including a pond and fountain.
In addition, there are 5 pools and a children’s pool with plenty of room around each pool for sunbathing. There is also a paddle tennis court.
Duquesa Village is a large development. However, due to the expanse of green areas, it still feels very open and you do not feel that the apartments are on top of each other.
Furthermore, each stairwell has a lift, with lift access to the underground parking and storerooms as well.
There is 24-hour security in Duquesa village. There is a barrier to enter the development and a security hut. The guard opens the barrier only when you have justified your reason for entering. However, owners are issued with remote controls that open the barrier for ease of entry.
Duquesa village is adequately equipped for the disabled. The entrance to all the stairwells is at ground level and the lifts access all floors. Also, there are no stairs at the entrances to the pools and the communal pathways are quite level.
Maintenance Costs in Duquesa Village
Maintenance costs will vary according to your apartment and terrace size. The community administrators for Duquesa Village are AEA. Their office is in Duquesa port.
Community fees cover the overall maintenance of the community such as pool cleaning and maintenance, gardening, lift maintenance and cleaning of communal areas. However, please note that any amounts shown below are merely for guidance purposes.
