Discover Casares with Hamilton Homes

Casares is located in the province of Malaga. It lies between Manilva, Estepona and Gaucin. Casares is a unique area running from the coast, up to the traditional white-washed Casares village.

The municipality has a population of approximately 6500 inhabitants.  

It is well connected by two international airports – Gibraltar (30 minutes) and Malaga (1 hour). Moreover, it is only a 20-minute drive from the centre of Marbella.

Casares Beach

The Casares Coast is a 2km area of coastline that links Manilva to the Estepona beaches. A breathtaking stretch of coast with a prominent, sixteenth-century, watchtower, Torre de la Sal.  Additionally, it is home to the famous Finca Cortesin Beach Club and La Sal chiringuito. You can walk from the Casares beaches (Casares playa) into Sabinillas, with its shops, restaurants, and amenities and continue along the promenade to  Marina de la Duquesa.  Check out the video below where we cycled from Casares Coast all the way to Duquesa.  We stopped at each chiringuito (beach bar) on the way. The video will give you an idea of what this coastline is like.

Property on the Coast

In addition, there are some well-established urbanisations here.  If you are looking for luxury, frontline apartments, La Perla de La Bahia is a sought after urbanisation with its Moorish style architecture.  Here is a video of a penthouse apartment for sale in La Perla de La Bahía:

If looking for a townhouse on the beach, then check out Marina de Casares, located next to the tennis club.

Across the footbridge at the bottom of the Casares road, is the area of Bahia de Casares.

Bahia de Casares overlooks the bay. It is only a short walk to the beach. However, this area is elevated therefore it boasts spectacular mountain and sea views.  They stretch right across to Gibraltar and Africa. Furthermore, it is home to the Casares Golf Course.

If looking for properties with good rental potential and well-established communities, urbanisations like Casares del Sol, Paraiso de la Bahia, Casares Real and Casares Costa Golf immediately come to mind.

However, for something more luxurious, the apartments, Majestic Gardens and Majestic Hills are excellent options. For Villa properties, Majestic Villas offer brilliant qualities and stunning views.  Here is an example of one of the villas in Majestic:

 

Finca Cortesin

As you drive further up the mountain towards Casares Village, you arrive at Finca Cortesin.

Also, each villa has a unique style. You have all the hotel’s amenities on your doorstep. In addition to this, the beach is close by with the Finca Cortesin beach club.

The  White-Washed Village

Heading up the Casares road, you arrive at the white-washed, Casares Village, which looks fairytale-like with its castle and white facades against the blue sky.

The village is built on the side of a hill with its glowing white buildings cascade down into a valley. The whole panorama can be captured from a viewing point on the top of the hill opposite.  The village has steep, narrow, cobbled streets with a lovely plaza in the middle, where one can sit and watch the world go by.

There is also a cheese factory, (Sierra Crestellina), that produces delicious goats cheese and organises guided tours.

Doña Julia

Driving towards Manilva from the main Casares roundabout, there is a turning to the right, next to the restaurant, La  Choza. As you come up the hill, you find yourself in the Doña Julia resort. This area comprises of a golf course, clubhouse and numerous urbanisations.

The location of these urbanisations is excellent as many of them have sea, golf and mountain views. Moreover, they are close to Sabinillas town, the beaches and village.  For instance, urbanisations such as La Herencia offer high-quality apartments, large terraces and awe-inspiring views
