Weekend Trip to Tarifa

Weekend trip to Tarifa

Old or young, Tarifa has so much to offer.  If you are staying in the Costa del Sol, going to the Costa de la Luz is definitely worth a day trip or weekend away.  Being in my 20’s, Andrew and Shani Hamilton suggested that I venture to Tarifa for a weekend away, to check out the ambience, nightlife and beaches.  The trip was fantastic and I thought I’d share a little bit of my experience with you!

If you are looking for a quick getaway a young and vibrant Weekend trip to Tarifa is the perfect option within close reach from all parts of Estepona and Manilva. Located on the Southern most point of Spain on the Costa de la Luz. It is known for its’ stunning views of Morocco. Furthermore, depending on when you are there you may find it rather windy, this helps it become one of the best places for surfing and kite surfing, it has actually been called the European capital for kite-surfing. Finally, the coastal town is a hub in the peak season offering many bars and clubs for residents; especially young people, from Andalusia and the surrounding areas.

The busy streets of Tarifa filled with restaurants.

Tarifa is filled with fantastic places to eat and my personal favourite is the restaurant below the Misiana Hotel.  Here you can experience amazing tapas for relatively reasonable prices. In addition, if you sit outside you can take in the atmosphere of the busy street around you. For example, when I was there last I was fortunate enough to see the President of Andalusia: Juan Manuel Moreno Bonilla. Clearly Tarifa is the place to be!
