Last week we went a little further afield for lunch and went to Elemi in Estepona. Elemi can be found on Avenida de España, just down from the entrance to the port and opposite the bull ring. Elemi is a completely vegetarian restaurant but don’t feel that you have to be a vegetarian to eat there…The menu is varied, the food is delicious and it’s good value too. The menu del dia is fantastic value at €8.95 for starter, main and dessert or coffee. Unlike many other “menu del dias” , everything is cooked fresh to order and you are not brushed in and out in under an hour.
We sampled a mixed salad which was a meal in itself and the bruschetta for starters, both delicious and really big portions considering they were supposed to be starters. To follow we had Roasted vegetable and goats cheese quiche served with rosemary potatoes and Moroccan Chickpea, Butternut Squash & Vegetable Tagine served with couscous. Both again beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. We were so full, we couldn’t contemplate desert, although all sounded wonderful, especially the lemon cake. The menu del dia is served from 1pm to 4.30pm.
If you want just a quick snack there is a huge range of wraps and sandwiches. I have it on good authority (from the boss) that the mexicn wrap is too die for, and they will even make it spicier for you if you like it hot!
In my opinion, this would be a great place for a “girlie ,lunch” and as an added bonus, the Elemi beauty salon is just next door. A bit of pampering followed by a fantastic healthy lunch – what more could a girl ask for??!!
