Shani’s Lockdown Diary – Friday 27th March – Home Sweet Home!

Well, we are about to start another weekend! I have to say that it has uplifting to read some positive stories about how communities are working together, how choirs are coming together online to sing, how the youth are helping the elderly and how families are learning the importance of sharing.  I read about health workers who work in the front line, selflessly.  I read about people making hot meals for those in need, I read about people coming together to make much-needed masks. I am in awe of those people in our society who really are working for the good of all.  I love to see how people applaud them every evening and how this act of appreciation happens across many countries of the world.

Here in Casares, they have started a big effort to disinfect the streets and are focusing on the areas where there is most passing public such as the area around the bins, supermarkets and medical centre.  I feel very grateful to these people who do have to go to work every day.  If you want to keep up to date with the Casares Ayuntamiento news, check out their facebook page:

Well, let’s see what the weekend brings – I have organised a few virtual meetings with friends and family and am looking forward to connecting.  We have been using a programme called Whereby which seems to be working very well.
