Yesterday, Manilva town hall announced that the streetlights on the entry and exit slip roads on the main A7 road through Sabinillas will be switched back on!!
Some 2 years ago, the central government renounced it responsibility for street lighting and passed it onto already cash struck local councils..This resulted in a general “switching off” of the streetlights, not just in Manilva, but many other municipalities.
The lack of lighting was not only a danger to drivers and pedestrians but it also created a very bad impression to all our tourists and visitors.
Manilva town hall has decided that they cannot allow this situation to continue, and, although it is not their responsibility, the streetlight on the main service roads in Sabinillas will be switched back on.
Thank heavens for that!!!
