Vulture Rescued in Sabinillas

We had real life “Animal Rescue” in Sabinillas this morning.  A Griffen Vulture had obviously “got lost” and was found perched on the top of  the apartment block, Edificio Bali, in the centre of Sabinillas.  Representatives from the enviromental department and the local police were able to rescue the bird which was then passed onto the CREA (centre for endangered species) so they could check that all was well and then release it back into its natural habitat.

Eagles and vultures can quite often be seen here in Spain, but generally inland, over the mountains. It is not very often that they venture into the towns. Let’s hope this one gets his sat nav sorted out!!
