Gastronomy Days in Casares

The I Casares Gastronomy Days will be held in Casares town centre over the weekend of 18th and 19th April.The emphasis will obviously be on food with the town’s restaurants and bars putting on special menus and the local shops promoting home grown and local produce. The restaurants in Casares are renown for their local delicacies including goat, goats cheese and Casares bread.  The event hopes to attract plenty of visitors to the town to enjoy a meal or tapas

There will also be various workshops including one on cheese making and the Fandango Casareño – the traditional dance of Casares , lectures and sightseeing tours, throughout the weekend. Other activities include guided walks around Casares and Castle, an urban hike, competition for the best street of house, the launch of an Andalucian Cookbook and several concerts.

17.00 Talk by Antonio Castillo – author of the book “Andalucian Cooking to recite”
23.00 Concert by the group Compás Flamenco.
Sunday 19th April
11.00  Guided walk around Casares and Castle
12.00 Cheese making workshop
13.00 Talk about the Poyoya goats cheese – award winning cheese made in Casares
17.00 Fandango Casareño workshop
18.00 Prizegiving for prettiest street of house front.
