Reduction in Manilva’s IBI bills for 2014

Good news for all home owners in Manilva.. At an extraordinary council meeting last week, the Manilva Town council voted in favour of a decrease in IBI bills from 2014.

The IBI is calculated as a percentage of the catastral (tax) value of your property. Each property has a different catastral value. The current percentage charged is 0.9% but this will decrease to 0.7% in 2014.  This will mean an average 20% reduction in IBI bills for all owners.

In addition to this, there is an added bonus for residents in Manilva.  The council has also agreed to a further 20% reduction in IBI bills for all residents as long as they fulfill the following criteria :-

1. You must be registered on the Padron

2. You must be up to date with all payments due to the Town Hall

3.  You must pay your IBI bill by direct debit.

This means residents could see a saving of up to 30% on their IBI bills.  Registration for the extra discount needs to be done at the Town Hall or the Tenencia de Alcaide in Sabinillas between 1st and 31st December 2013
