Anyone who says that it doesn’t rain a lot in Spain is wrong!!! We have had rain every day for a week now, and it not just drizzle, when it rains, it really rains!!!! One of the problems that can occur when it rain this heavily is rockfalls and landslides especially on the inland mountain roads. This is normally caused as, after the hot summer, the soil is so dry that when it rains heavily, it slips, bring more soil with it.
One such occurrence happened last week on the San pedro to Ronda road. Motorists had a lucky escape as a huge rock fall blocked the A397 road which links Ronda to the coast. The road was closed for several hours but fortunately no one was hurt
