Yes, Christmas is coming and far too soon in my opinion. One of friends from the UK was moaning the other day on facebook, that she is already fed up with doing her shopping to the stains of “Rudolph the Red nose Reindeer” and “walking in a winter wonderland” and that in every single aisle there is at lease one Christmas related product. I, gloatingly posted back that, here in Spain, there is none of that and we don’t start thinking about Christmas until beginning of December at the earliest… Well, I had to eat my words, wandering around Mercadona yesterday, I was faced with a whole section (almost half an aisle) of various types of turron (traditionally a Christmas sweet) and large boxes of Chocolates and sweets as well as advent calendars… At least they are not playing Christmas music yet … just the familiar “Mer-ca-don-na Mer-ca-don-na” (anyone living here will know exactly what I mean!!
Hubby popped into Iceland in Banus and said that there is Christmas stuff everywhere….but that doesn’t count cos it a British shop!!!
