Wow, Wow, Wow, Wow!!! Definitely my favourite restaurant in the area. This restaurant is situated on the road up to Casares, opposite the junction with the Estepona turn-off.
They have recently re-furbished the outside area and built an external bar area. This is a really relaxing, chilled area with low tables with stools, benches and lots of brightly coloured cushions. There is also a water feature and fountain which add to the atmosphere. When you arrive at the restaurant, you are shown to a table in the bar area where you can order a drink and browse the menu. I can recommend the mojito and the non-alcoholic cocktails
Browsing the menu can take some time … there are so many delicious dishes on the menu. I have to say that I could have chosen any of the starters and know I would have thoroughly enjoyed it.
There were 8 of us in our party so we all tried to order something different. Our starters included prawn pil pil, goats cheese salad, mixed roasted vegetables, prawns wrapped in filo pastry with peanut sauce (yummy!!) and a mixed fish platter. This platter was bigger than some main course platters we have had in a chiringuito before so we all had to help out with that one!!
Main courses included filet steak with fois gras, roast shoulder of lamb, grilled salmon, Venison stew. My friend (who eats out a lot!!) said it was the best steak he had ever eaten in Spain!
The service is impeccable, attentive but not intrusive and the prices very reasonable for the quality of the food but don’t just take my word for it, check out the reviews below on trip advisor. Don’t be put off by the one saying its hard to find – it’s not, from the coast road (N340/A7), simply take the A377 towards Casares and just keep going. It’s about a 15 minute drive from Sabinillas.
