With not a cloud in the sky and temperatures still in the high teens, it’s hard to believe that Christmas is just a few weeks away. Unlike the UK, Spain doesn’t really “start” Christmas until the middle of November at the earliest, although I have noticed that this date gets a little earlier each year. With all the lights on in the UK and every advert in the TV is a Christmas advert (loving the Sainsbury’s ad this year..), I’m beginning to feel a little Christmassy so was very pleased to see that there are finally some lights going up in Manilva and some decorations being put on the Manilva and Sabinillas roundabouts.
Estepona town hall is way ahead of us though. This year they have decided to decorate 60 streets in the old town and the gardens at the new orchid house as well some other areas. I was in Estepona at the weekend and there are loads of lights already up….well, they would have to be as the big switch in is set for this Friday, 27th November – I wonder which celebrity will be pulling the switch :)))
