Every year, normally the first week in August, Manilva hosts its annual feria as as part of the festivities, Feria queens and princesses are chosen from the young ladies of Manilva.
The election for this year’s Feria Queen’s and princesses is organised by Manilva’s Fiestas Department and will be held on Friday 31st May starting from 7.30 pm at the El Duque Park in Sabinillas.
There are two categories: Infantiles (princesses) – girls born in 2003 and Juveniles (Queens) – girls born in 1992, 1993 or 1994.
All girls born in said years and who are registered on the Manilva Padron can enter. In fact my daughter (born 1994) received a letter from the town hall inviting her to take part… Anyone interested in entering can register at the Edificio de Usos Multiples in Sabinillas or at the Welfare department in Manilva or by calling 952 893 838 or 952 897 060.
To make it fairer, the “princesses” are selected by a draw however , with a panel of judges will select the Feria Queens.
The fiesta’s department would like to encourage everyone to a attend what promises to be an enjoyable evening. – it’s not just for the prospective queens and princesses!
