ADANA (Association for the Rights of Abandoned Animals) is an animal charity on the Costa del Sol run solely by animal loving volunteers. They are based in Estepona and every year, they hold a dog show. This is a really fun filled day for all the family.
They used to hold the event in Los Pedralgales park but after a couple of years when it didn’t stop raining on the day of the show, it is now held in the Palacio de Congressos in Estepona (on the road leading up to Carrefour)
This year’s show will be held on Sunday May 12th. Last year’s show saw record attendance and participation levels, and this year promises to be even bigger and better.
As usual, there will be a mix of obedience, agility and novelty classes such as Waggiest tail and dog that looks most like its owner!! More “traditional” classes include Best Spanish Breed and Best pedigree as well as best Ex – Adana dog which is open to all dogs, rescued by Adana be it a pedigree or mutt!! This year there is also a new class – the search to find the most handsome male and prettiest female dogs in the Costa del Sol!
Entrance to the show is usually around a euro and if you want to enter a class, its €4 per entry. Click here for the registration form. All proceeds from the show go to Adana.
So, even if you don’t have a dog, pop along – its good fun…
Here’s some pictures from previous years.
