Following the huge success of last year’s party, Manilva town hall have organised another Full moon party for this year. It will take place on Sabinillas beach, this Friday, 3rd August and will include, as last year, a variety of events and activities.
The event has been inspired by Thailand’s Koh Pha Ngan Full Moon Party. Last year over 3,000 visitors enjoyed an evening of music and relaxation on the beach and it is hoped that this figure will double this year. There are certainly more people around this summer than there were last year – anything to do with the awful UK weather I wonder….
All guests are asked to come dressed in white, and from last year, I must say that this does add to the atmosphere. Published start time is 8.30 pm but to be honest, this will probably be nearer 10pm as there will no doubt still be people sunbathing on the beach at 8.30pm!!
The lights on the paseo will be dimmed to allow the full splendour of the moon as it rises over the Mediterranean to be appreciated. The beach will then be lit by hundreds of candles and torches.
The entertainment is pretty much like last year, chill out music, jugglers, fire eaters, and acrobats. Later in the evening, once the moon has risen, hundreds of Chinese sky lanterns will be released which will light up the night sky. Here’s some pictures from last year’s event to whet your appetite…
I’d definitely recommend this event, a really fun relaxing evening. Personally I prefer this event over San Juan. As everyone spills onto the beach, it doesn’t feel as busy or packed. However, if they are expecting 6000 people……..
Anyway, best of all its FREE….
