I had a few spare minutes this morning (a rare occurrence) so decided to walk to the office along the paseo. I noticed a few people coming off of the beach and when I got closer, realised they were fisherman. They carried their “catch” in a large bucket. A few moments later, one of the local Spanish bar/restaurant owners (who has owned a bar for as long as I can remember – at least 20 years!) came up and looked at the fish and proceeded to choose what ones she wanted. No doubt these will will be someone’s lunch today!!
With all the development that has taken place in this area over the last few years, it was lovely to see that some of the old traditions remain – after all, Sabinillas was originally a small fishing village.
