Mexican Restaurant, Duquesa Port

Every week we try to review a new restaurant in the Manilva, Duquesa area. We generally look for for reasonably priced lunch venues, where a ‘menu del dia’ is offered. This time we decided to try a Mexican Restaurant right in the Port of Duquesa. the setting could not be nicer and encompasses all that we would want from a quick lunch in sunny Spain. So the setting is ideal – one can look out to the boats.

The menu looked good. We all opted for the ‘menu del dia’ rather than a la carte. The cost of a two course menu del dia was 7.95. The options given were pretty good – for starters we were able to chose between soup and potato skins, there were several options too for mains including Caesar salad and Mexican wraps.

To be honest the starters were great and the salad main course was beautifully presented – however to be brutally honest my Santa Fe wrap was a little disappointing – a little tasteless. Mind you I do like lots of flavours in my food. Indeed, I asked for some extra chilli sauce which they brought in a tiny bowl. To my horror, when I got the bill later, I was quite disappointed to have been charged 85 cents for the sauce. What happened to customer service at a time of crisis.

Another table had a la carte and I peaked over and to be honest the a la carte food looked better and I would go back to try the fajitas.

However the service was not brilliant – it is a place to go with time to spare – I did not feel as though the waiter was particularly interested in us – perhaps because we went for the cheap ‘ menu del dia’
