Guilded trip through Casares Caves

Did you know that Manilva’s and Casares’ history date back to the Neolithic period?? Well, now you can see it first hand. EcoTourCasares are organising a caving trip to visit the Gran Duque Cave which is situated in the Sierra de la Utrera, the mountain ridge between Casares and Manilva. The trip will take place this Sunday, 15th February.

The Gran Duque Cave was only discovered in 2005, and it’s existence was kept kept secret for a while to allow for a proper archaeological study to take place. Remains were found dating back to prehistoric times, around 4,500 B.C.

A visit to the cave is a fascinating experience. The journey to the cave, through the ridge has a medium difficulty level but no caving experience is necessary.
