Every Year on the 25th August, Sabinillas celebrates its patron saint with a day of processions, music and partying . This year’s fiesta falls on a Monday but that makes no difference… it’s will be a big party!!. The day will begin, like every other local festival with rockets being let off at 8am and a march through the street by the town band Chichipon.
At 8pm, there will be a holy mass in the church in Sabinillas in honour of the patron saint with singing from Sabinillas church choir. After the mass the Saint’s statue is taken from the church and is carried in procession through the streets of Sabinillas. Many of the townsfolk dressed in traditional costume and it’s very pretty to watch
The evenings events take place from 10pm in plaza Vincente Espinel (the main square behind the taxi rank). There will be childrens entertainment as well as live music from the band Kalima. No doubt, the fun will go on way into the early hours.
