Manilva’s “World Cup” tournament

The “World Cup” comes to Manilva this Saturday with an International Football 7 tournament to be held at the Las Viñas football ground in Manilva.  The event, which has been organised in collaboration with Manilva’s sports department and Foreign Residents department, aims to bring together all the different nationalities of people living in the area in a grand football tournament.

Teams will be made up from players from the following countries:- England, Morocco, Uruguay, Paraguay, Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil and Spain. There will be two groups of four teams playing each other with the winners passing to the semi final and then the final.

The first match kicks of at 10.30 and the tournament will end around 3pm with the presentation of the trophy to the winners… I don’t think it will be quite as spectacular as the Jules Rimet trophy though…

Spectators are very welcome to come and support their  countries team..should be a great atmosphere.

It’s no coincidence that this event has been scheduled to coincide with the start of the actual World cup in Brazil. Both Spain and England are set to play their opening matches this weekend so it’s football all the way!!
