We decided to go a little further afield for lunch today and ventured to Estepona port. Restaurant Bangkok is situated at the entrance to the port and at lunchtimes they offer a superb menu del dia. You can choose from Chicken Satay, Thai vegetable spring rolls or mixed salad to start, with about 8 different dishes on offer for main course, including Chicken green curry, beef in BBQ sauce, sweet and sour chicken and prawn yellow curry. This can be accompanied by either plain rice or special fried rice. Coffee or tea is included in the price of €8.75 per person – such good value!! Three of us ate, including a drink each for €31-95 – just over €10 a head. They tend not to offer the menu del dia menu to you unless you specifically ask for it so make sure you remember to ask!!
We had a very enjoyable lunch, I, for one, won’t be eating much tonight. The service was a bit fast, plates were taken away as soon as we had finished, but we still got offered a hot towel afterwards and a drink on the house (which we declined – got to work this afternoon!!)
In my opinion, for quality of food, the Thai in Sabinillas is better but for value for money, you can’t really beat this.
