Los patios de Córdoba is an annual competition whereby the courtyards and patios of the houses of Cordoba are beautifully decorated with plants and flowers and all entrants compete to win the prestigious award.
Cordoba has always been known for its buildings with central courtyards right back to Roman times. The competition for the “best courtyard” started in 1921 and has increased in popularity over the years. The event is always held during the first 2 weeks of May. This years competition runs from 5th – 18th May., As well as the beautiful floral displays, there is also plenty of singing and dancing and, of course, food and drink in abundance – as per any Spanish fiesta!!
If you would like to see “Los patios de Córdoba” then you are in luck.. Manilva’s tourism department have organised a trip for this Friday, 9th May. The price is 36E per person which includes return coach travel, guided visit to Los Patios and lunch. The coach leaves Manilva at 9.45, Sabinillas at 9.55 and Castillo at 10.00.
