Easter processions in Sabinillas and Manilva

Locally, here in Manilva, Semana Santa week is probably one of the most important weeks in the year with all the attention turning to the four brotherhoods.. Nuestra Señora de los Dolores and  Nuestro Padre Jesús de Nazareno in Manilva and  El Cristo del Amor and Nuestra Señora de los Dolores in  Sabinillas

Fortunately, the beautiful church in Manilva is now fully reformed and open again for services.

Here’s the timetable for the  processions for this year’s celebrations in Manilva and Sabinillas

1 pm Procession of the “Santisimo Cristo Resucitado” and the “Santisima Virgen del Rosario A.M.D.G.” (Jesus & Mary). The statues of Christ and Mary are taken from the church, one procession goes one way around Manilva and the other, another way. Both statues meet later in the main street  (Calle Mar)

10.00 am.Easter Mass at the church

In my opinion, the procession on Sunday is the best but I’d certainly advise that you try to see at least one of the parades. – and get there early – they get very busy!
Remember, also, that many roads will be closed from from late afternoon on Thursday, Friday Saturday and Sunday so look out for the signs advising you not to park… or you could find your car impounded.!!
