Full Programme for Manilva’s Summer Fair

Preparations are well under way for the annual summer feria in Manilva. The lights are up, and the stage and marquees are being erected in the fairground. Here’s the fill programme so you don’t miss out on any of the fun…

Wednesday 7th August

Opening day of the fair.  All rides €1 each on this day, starting from 9pm so if you’ve got a few kids, then this is the day to go!!

Thursday 8th August

9.30 pm Official opening of the main pavillion and stage. This will be a  Chill Out Zone where you can grab a seat and enjoy a drink. Throughout the fair, there will be theme nights and live music held in the pavillion.

11 pm Official opening of the fair and ceremonial switching on of the lights by the Feria Queens, mayoress and local councillors

11.15 pm Coronation ceremony for all the Feria Queens and princesses in the main pavillion.

Midnight – The party begins with a traditional Pasodoble. This is followed by a Latin Festival withLatin DJ and entertainment. The resident DJ then takes us through to the early hours with hits from the 80’s to the present day.

Friday 9th August

7.30 pm – Parade through the streets of Manilva with floats accompanied by the “Chi Chi Pom” marching band.

10 pm Clown performance in the children’s area of the main pavillion.

11 pm Dance performance by the Municipal Dance School

Midnight – Live performance from “Costa Pop”. Followed by resident DJ with again dancing until the early hours.

Saturday 10th August

7.30 pm Parade through the streets of Castillo and Sabinillas. Departs from the Castle in Castillo at 7.30 pm and La Noria in Sabinillas around 8 pm

10 pm Clown performance in the children’s area of the main pavillion.

11 pm Performance by comedian Tony Rodríguez (all in Spanish of course)

Midnight – Live performance from “Costa Pop”. Followed by resident DJ with again dancing until the early hours.

Sunday 11th August

10 pm Magic show in the children’s area of the main pavillion.

11 pm Performance by comedian Jesús Tapia.

Midnight – Concert by Hombres G (Spanish equivalent of young Take That!) tribute band again followed by Resident DJ.

Don’t forget that, following the excess of the fair – getting home at 8am!!,  Monday August 12th is a local holiday.
