The tourism department has announced the first “competition for the prettiest house” (or street, square, corner!!)
The object of the competition is to encourage the decoration of the houses (streets, squares) in the municipality of Manilva, to enhance the image of the town. The decoration should show an artistic aspect yet be in keeping with the town’s traditional character. Plant pots with a huge range of floral decoration, architectural elements and lighting can all be used.
Th competition is open to anyone residing in Manilva and the application can be submitted as individual or a group of neighbours.
The competition will run from 10th – 30th May 2013. All entries will display a plaque provided by the town hall, showing that they are participating in the competition. Registration is free and you can register at the Tourism office in Duquesa port.or online at www.turismomanilva.com.
Prizes will be awarded to the top three as follows:-
First prize €400
Second prize €200
Third prize €100
Each prizewinner will also be presented with a celebratory plaque.
I’m looking forward to seeing what people come up with. Although, having seen this house recently in Estepona, we have a lot to live up too!!
