Well, summers arrived with a vengeance and there seems to be a lot more people around for July than normal. It’s as busy now as it normally is in August – which can only be a good thing for the local economy..
The larger supermarkets and shopping centres are now open on Sundays (normally same hours as during the week) throughout July and August which makes doing the weekly shop slightly easier… However, I have to say, popped to Carrefour in Estepona yesterday and it was heaving….even busier that a Saturday…. still it was nice and cool in the air conditioning!!!
Please note though, not all branches are open. For example, Carrefour in Estepona is open on Sundays whereas Carrefour in Los Barrios isn’t so do double check first
Lidls in Sabinillas and Eroski in Los Hidagos is also open on Sundays but Mercadona isn’t. With Mercadona probably being the most popular supermarket in the area, especially with the Spanish tourists from Madrid etc, it seems very strange to me that they don’t open on Sundays….
