We went to a friend’s Christmas party in Estepona this weekend and I have to say that Estepona town hall have really made an effort this year. It felt really Christmassy and festive and the lights were beautiful. Up until now, the Christmas lights and decorations have been somewhat disappointing, especially as the don’t normally even get switched on until late in December. Obviously, if you go to one of the larger cities, then it’s a different story. Malaga lights are always special and Madrid is quite magical at Christmas.
Well, this year, I think that Estepona could almost compete with Malaga. As well as the seafront and the two main streets in Estepona, many of the small, narrow, streets in the centre of the old town have also been decorated and Christmas music is even played through speakers on the main shopping streets. So, if you want some Christmas magic but don’t want to travel too far, then just pop into Estepona. You won’t be disappointed.
