This is now an annual event in Sabinillas and is as popular as the San Juan festival. This year’s “Fiesta de la luna llena” is this coming Saturday, 1st August and, as usual, will take place on the beach and paseo in Sabinillas
Expect Standing room only and if you want to eat in one of the restaurants on the promenade then I strongly advise you to book.
As before, you are asked to come dressed in white as this really does add to the atmosphere. Published start time is 9pm but in reality, there will not be much going on until nearer 10pm as there will no doubt still be people sunbathing on the beach at 9pm!!
The lights on the paseo will be dimmed to allow the full splendour of the moon as it rises over the Mediterranean to be appreciated.
Various activities and entertainments have been planned ,all centred on and around the beach. We can expect live music and dancing, fire-eaters, gymnasts and jugglers. However, the town hall has announced that there will not be any Chinese Lanterns lit, due to the increased fire risk following the recent spell of very hot weather. They have promised alternatives surprises……
This really is a “not to be missed” event. Bring the whole family and chill on the beach.
