Every year in September, Estepona town hosts the International Fantasy Film week, which showcases the best horror and fantasy films of the day. This year is the 13th Festival and is being organised by the Estepona culture department in collaboration with Marbella and Malaga town halls. The event will take place in various places in Estepona, Marbella and Malaga on 24th – 29th September.
Every year, there is a different theme, with this years being “Dr Jekyll & Mr Hyde” and the conflict between good versus evil.
As well as several film screenings, in the Palacio de congressos (just before Carrefour) in Estepona, there are several other activities on offer.
In the Palacio de Congressos, a production company is recreating the a London street of the late 19th Century, the setting for the Jakyll & Hyde story. This “street” will provide the setting for the many other activities and “fantasy film” related exhibitions including stamp and book exhibitions.
Definitely something different to do…not my thing at all but apparently is really well attended every year…
